Sr .Cloud Architect- Data Engineering $ GenAI focused

Title: Sr.Cloud Architect,Data Engineering & GenAI

Location: Rochester, NY; hybrid candidates with 10% travel required

The objective of the Role: Sr. Cloud Architect will be a key technical resource, responsible for helping our customers successfully utilize AWS data and AI tools to grow their businesses and create new revenue streams. You will have a deep understanding of AWS data engineering and AI/ML services, with particular expertise in generative AI implementations and best practices.

Top candidates will have the following:

• Technical depth in AWS data engineering services and generative AI implementations
• Proven experience leading GenAI projects from conception to production

Required Experience for the Role:

• Must have minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related cloud architecture roles
• Must have AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Must have 3 years of direct experience with AWS data services including Glue, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, S3, and RDS
• Must have 2 years of experience with AI/ML implementations, with at least 1 year focused on generative AI solutions
• Must have demonstrated experience leading the design and implementation of large-scale data engineering projects
• Must have strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
• Must have experience with data modeling and ETL/ELT processes
• Must have practical knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (Python, Scala, etc.)
  
  
  

Preferred Experience for the Role:

• AWS Data Analytics or Machine Learning Specialty certification
• Experience implementing AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, or other generative AI services
• Background in implementing data mesh or data fabric architectures
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns
  
  
  

Responsibilities, including success measures and KPIs:

• Engaging with potential customers to understand their current state and applications and designing data engineering and GenAI solutions that will meet their requirements
• Creating and delivering detailed implementation plans, including timelines, and detailed technical guidance for the customer
• Architecting and overseeing implementation of scalable, production-ready data pipelines and generative AI solutions
• Leading technical discovery workshops and proof-of-concept initiatives
• Providing guidance on best practices for using AWS data, analytics, and AI/ML services and how they can be integrated with the customer's existing stack
• Acting as an organizational consultant to customers, guiding them on how cloud-based data engineering and generative AI will transform their business
• Developing procedures and standards for the AWS Data Engineering and GenAI Practice
• Working with the Product team to refine and create new service offerings for the market
• Mentoring junior architects and engineers on data engineering and AI best practices
• Leading the evaluation of new AWS services and features related to data engineering and AI/ML
