What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fixed Equipment Engineer position at Innovative Turnaround Controls?
The role of the Turnaround Fixed Equipment (Mechanical) Engineering Coordinator is to steward the turnaround engineering work scope and act as a liaison between the Turnaround Organization and the Mechanical Integrity Group (ABT Fixed Equipment Engineer, ABT Inspector, and Corrosion Engineer) and the Capital Group. The Turnaround Fixed Equipment Engineering Coordinator will develop engineered work packages and bid packages (RFQs) in accordance with company engineering standards and RAGAGEP. Additionally, the Turnaround Fixed Equipment Engineer will be a steward in ensuring all materials purchased to support the execution are in accordance with the company Engineering Standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and knowledge of applicable ASME/API Codes/Standards. SAP, Primavera, AutoCAD skills preferred
- Acts as a liaison between the turnaround organization and mechanical integrity and capital groups on repairs and projects that have engineering scope identified in the turnaround.
- Provides timely technical support to the turnaround organization, field execution and planners.
- Participates in all phases of work scope development on behalf of the turnaround organization.
- Assists with Pre-Turnaround Inspection identification and data analysis for work scope development.
- Generates engineering repair packages for the turnaround organization and receives approval from the ABT Fixed Equipment Engineer.
- Generates engineering RFQs for the turnaround organization and procures vendor fabrication quotes.
- Interacts with turnaround contractors to address questions and to ensure understanding of repair plans.
- Ensures the mechanical integrity of equipment complies with the company’s engineering standards and mechanical specifications.
- Alerts Turnaround Manager and Turnaround Superintendent of any engineering issue that could affect the turnaround schedule and budget.
- Documents and reports material and repair deviations from specifications to the Turnaround Manager, ABT Fixed Equipment Engineer and Corrosion Engineer
- Provides status of repair plans and piping packages to Turnaround organization.
- Provides daily shift turnover document to ABT Fixed Equipment Engineer.
- Participates in an intra-department turnover meeting to communicate shift turnover information to turnaround shift counterpart.
- Supports turnaround execution by attending daily turnaround execution and engineering meetings - communicates any pertinent engineering issues at turnaround meetings.
- Performs final visual inspection of repairs and signs off prior to equipment closure, as needed.
- Supports the MOC process for field changes.
- Participates in QA/QC completion walkdowns, as needed.
- Participates in post turnaround evaluation.
