Position: X-ray Technician/Medical Assistant

Location: Damascus, Maryland

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled X-ray Technician/Medical Assistant to join our team at Innovative Urgent Care. This dual-role position requires expertise in both radiologic imaging and clinical support. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiologic imaging procedures.
• Ensure proper patient positioning, exposure settings, and radiation protection.
• Maintain and operate X-ray equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Take patient histories, measure vital signs, and record information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers.
• Place IVs as needed
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care.
• Provide patient education and support for follow-up care and instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked examination rooms and work areas.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.

Qualifications:

• Certification as an X-ray Technician
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or Nurse Tech
• Current and valid state licensure for radiologic technology
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an urgent care, emergency room, or primary care setting preferred.
• Strong technical skills in radiologic imaging and clinical procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
