The Animal Hospital of Lakewood Ranch is seeking TWO skilled and experienced Pet Groomers to join our team. Whether you are seeking a full-time or part-time position, we offer flexible scheduling (3-4 days per week) to fit your needs.

Compensation : 50% Commission Plus Tips

Key Responsibilities

Provide High-Quality Grooming Services :

Groom pets of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments, offering a range of services including baths, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing.

Ensure that pets are calm and comfortable throughout their grooming experience.

Breed-Specific Grooming Styles :

Demonstrate proficiency in breed-specific cuts and the ability to adapt styles based on client preferences, ensuring each pet leaves looking its best.

Monitor Pet Health :

While grooming, look for signs of common health issues, such as skin conditions, parasites, or infections. Provide feedback to pet owners and, if necessary, alert the veterinarian to concerns for further evaluation.

Customer Interaction & Consultation :

Engage with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and provide expert advice on how to care for their pets between visits.

Offer insights into grooming frequency, coat care, and other important aspects of pet health.

Timely Grooming Service :

Manage grooming appointments efficiently, ensuring each pet is groomed within the allotted time while maintaining high standards of quality and care.

Safety & Cleanliness :

Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for both pets and staff. Clean and sterilize grooming tools and equipment regularly, and maintain a sanitized work area.

Customer Service Excellence :

Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and provide exceptional customer service to both pets and their owners. Build lasting relationships with clients based on trust and high-quality grooming.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise to be Succesful

Proven Grooming Experience :

Minimum of 2-3 years of professional grooming experience required. Grooming certification or formal training is preferred but not necessary.

Technical Grooming Skills :

Expertise in using grooming tools like clippers, scissors, brushes, and dryers. Ability to groom all dog and cat breeds and perform specialty cuts, including breed-specific styles.

Animal Handling Proficiency :

Comfortable handling pets of all temperaments, sizes, and breeds. Ability to work with pets who may be anxious, stressed, or difficult.

Attention to Detail :

Meticulous in providing grooming services to meet the highest standards. Skilled in maintaining client-specific preferences and managing pet grooming needs efficiently.

Strong Communication Skills :

Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with clients, staff, and other team members. Ability to explain grooming options, aftercare instructions, and pet behavior observations.

Customer Service Focus :

A passion for pets and their owners! Ability to build relationships, provide consultations, and offer professional advice on pet grooming and care.

Physical Stamina & Endurance :

Ability to stand for long periods, handle pets of various sizes, and perform physical tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
