Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Veterinary Rehabilitation Technician supports veterinarians in the physical rehabilitation of animals, primarily dogs and cats, by administering prescribed treatments, maintaining detailed records, and providing exceptional patient care. This role combines technical veterinary skills with physical therapy techniques to help animals recover from injury, surgery, or manage chronic conditions.
Here is What Your day May Consist of:
- Assist veterinarians in developing and implementing rehabilitation treatment plans
- Perform rehabilitation therapies such as: Laser therapy, underwater treadmill therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation (e-stim), range-of-motion and stretching exercises, massage and manual therapy, monitor and document patient progress, behavior, and response to therapy
- Educate and guide pet owners on at-home exercises, post-treatment care, and recovery goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Registered Veterinary Technician preferred or equivalent experience in a veterinary clinical setting
- Certification in Canine Rehabilitation (e.g., CCRP, CCRA, CCRVT)
- Experience in veterinary physical therapy or rehabilitation is highly desirable
- Strong animal handling skills and an empathetic, calm demeanor
- Excellent communication and client education abilities
- Physical ability to lift and support animals of various sizes and conditions.
