Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant / Kennel to join our team! This hybrid role combines essential kennel care responsibilities with assisting veterinary professionals in providing top-tier animal care.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :
Kennel Care Duties :
- Ensure the comfort and well-being of boarding patients by maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Take boarding animals outside for exercise and bathroom breaks.
- Clean and sanitize cages, runs, and common areas.
- Provide nutritional care, including feeding and monitoring boarders' dietary needs.
- Facilitate a stimulating and engaging playtime experience for boarding animals.
- Transport animals between front-of-house and back-of-house areas as needed.
Veterinary Assistant Duties :
- Support veterinarians during physical exams, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Prepare materials and instruments for patient appointments and exams.
- Assist in radiology, laboratory procedures, and other diagnostic processes.
- Provide patient restraint and ensure the safety of animals and staff during procedures.
- Offer exceptional customer service to pet owners, including answering questions and providing updates on their pets.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as cleaning and walking animals.
- Passion for animal care and a willingness to learn.
