Department: Veterinary Assistants
Location: Bossier City, Louisiana
Compensation: $10.00 - $12.00 / hour
Our focus is on being a place of comfort for our clients and pets, in sickness and in health. The veterinary assistant at North Airline Animal Hospital is the veterinary technician's primary support. You will have an open door for growth opportunities ranging from becoming a veterinary technician, specialty medicine, and future management positions!
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Patient handling and restraint
- Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed
- Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
- Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It's okay if you talk to animals, too!)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
