We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to support our financial team in ensuring the accuracy of job costs and proper inventory accounting. This role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, facilitating cycle counts, and setting standard costs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cost accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
The Exciting Things You Will Do:
- Ensure accurate quantities and costing for all jobs.
- Facilitate cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Travel extensively, both domestically and potentially internationally, to support job cost assessments.
- Set standard costs and perform cost roll-ups, as necessary.
- Report on inventory levels and transactions, adjusting as needed.
- Investigate root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare Gross Margin Reports and conduct variance analysis.
- Review jobs for accuracy and timeliness, ensuring alignment with financial statements.
- Ensure the sub-ledger ties to the General Ledger.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
