One of our global partners in the aerospace manufacturing industry is looking to bring on a Windows Migration Engineer. This role will be focused on separation activities for the company within 2 different digital technology divisions - the Combustion and Structures Parts division and the Turbine Airfoils & Additive Manufacturing Sites division.
Throughout the separation, there is a need to migrate over 2,500 PC users to a new infrastructure. They are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager/Windows Migration Engineer to lead process design, training, and execution for a seamless PC migration effort. This role requires both strategic migration planning and hands-on execution, with extensive expertise in Windows OS re-imaging, configuration, and user optimization.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 7 years’ experience as a Windows OS Engineer, with a focus on leading large-scale Windows PC migration efforts that involve both strategic planning and hands-on execution (migration process design, re-imaging, refresh, configuration, and user optimization).
- Strong experience with:
- Windows OS (Windows 10/11) for migration, configuration, deployment, and re-imaging.
- Active Directory for user authentication, access management, and group policy management.
- Spotfire for user-readiness, data analysis, and reporting.
- Firewall Debugging to ensure network connectivity, troubleshoot migration failures, and solve VPN and remote access issues.
- SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for automated deployment and imaging, software & patch management, and inventory and compliance reporting.
- OneDrive for seamless, user-data transfer and to ensure business continuity.
- ServiceNow ticketing system to track PC migration incident issues in real-time.
- Physical Demands: physical relocation of PC’s on shop floor, to replace old systems.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Previous experience with Separation, M&A, or Divestiture activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and Develop Migration Strategy: Create a comprehensive and scalable process for PC migration activities, considering security, performance, and end-user experience.
- Assess Current Environment: Conduct an analysis of the existing infrastructure, applications, user profiles, and dependencies to ensure a seamless migration plan.
- Develop and Document Migration Procedures: Establish clear, step-by-step processes for IT teams and end-users, including pre-migration readiness and execution.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and end-user support teams to align migration processes with business needs.
- Pilot and Validate Migration Plan: Conduct test migrations to identify potential issues and refine the strategy before full deployment.
- Execute Large-Scale Migration: Lead and oversee the migration of over 2,000 PC users, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance with IT policies.
- Evaluate PC State: lead the decision-making process on PC condition for re-imaging, refresh, configuration, or burn-down.
- Monitor and Optimize Performance: Track migration progress, address issues, and continuously optimize the migration approach to enhance efficiency.
