INNOVIM Defense Services is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in supporting the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) program at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Under this contract, INNOVIM Defense Services supports the development, implementation, sustainment, and operations of enclaves and systems that support missile defense training, events, analysis, and operations.

This position is located onsite at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

The Senior Systems Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

The candidate will:

  • Perform systems engineering activities including, but not limited to: requirements analysis, scheduling, documentation and traceability matrix development, preliminary design, critical design, detailed design, test and evaluation, system verification and validation, research and development, implementation and fielding, and sustainment and operations throughout the entire life cycle of the system.
  • Collaborate and directly assist the government stakeholder and staff in documentation development and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICD), Data Owner Guidance (DOG), Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), Memorandums of Agreement (MOA), Foreign Disclosure Briefings and other similar documents, agreements and products.
  • Implementation of ITAR agreements to ensure appropriate processes are followed to export information and documentation to foreign partners
  • Scope and execute trade studies, analysis, and detailed requirements definition, preliminary and detailed system architecture designs, and system development of Enterprise Services
  • Develop junior and mid-level engineering personnel to leverage an Agile delivery practice, to include capturing and decomposing work around Epics, Stories, and Tasks.
  • Maintain alignment to support Team Leads: infrastructure, networks, integration, logistics plans, cybersecurity and physical security protection plans, and cost and schedule estimates for the development, fielding, tests, and operations.
  • Coordinate with engineering leaders to support the application of Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement of non-manufacturing engineering processes.
  • Communicate complex technical information to people of various backgrounds and disciplines
  • Travel to attend and conduct international planning, support and technical interchange meetings (TIM) when required.
  • Provide status and briefings to leadership, to include senior government customers and stakeholders.
  • Use interpersonal skills to solve both technical and organizational conflicts.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required to meet international requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 16 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 14 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 10 years of general experience.
  • Must have 9 years of directly related experience
  • Must have 3 years of experience working in a management or leadership role
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of agile team management concepts, practices, and methods and have training/ education in agile delivery concepts
  • Must have expertise in systems engineering processes, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools, and engineering documentation management
  • Must have a working knowledge of the following technical/management skills: information technology infrastructure, networking, Linux and Windows systems, virtualization, data storage management, system life cycle and change management
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio or other Computer Aided Design (CAD) application, Agile workflow management applications (Microsoft Planner, Jira, Asana, Trello)
  • Have experience in the facilitation and development of requirements, architectures, and required documentation for test events
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have a STEM degree from an accredited college
  • Have documented experience developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products for major space and IT systems
  • Familiarity with the C2BMC system and other Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems
  • Expertise in presentation and briefing of high-level stakeholders to include SES and foreign partners at the general office level
  • Experience in coordinating, planning, and managing bilateral/multilateral test events and planning conferences
  • Have prior experience leading teams to support Missile Defense Agency Concurrent Test, Training, and Operations (CTTO)
  • Experience mentoring junior employees to identify value and continuous improvement performance
  • Experience with ITAR agreements to ensure appropriate processes are followed to export information and documentation to foreign partners
