What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator II position at Inolex Group, Inc?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment, including reactors, mixers, pumps, and filtration systems, to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flowmeters, or products to ensure that specified conditions are maintained.
- Adjust controls and settings on equipment to regulate temperature, pressure, flow rate, and reaction time according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Add treating or neutralizing agents to products, and pump products through filters or centrifuges to remove impurities or to precipitate products.
- Drain equipment, and pump water or other solutions through to flush and clean tanks or equipment.
- Flush or clean equipment, using steam hoses or mechanical reamers.
- Open valves or start pumps, agitators, reactors, blowers, or automatic feed of materials.
- Ability to set up the filtration system
- Ability to do small acid adjustments
- Assist in the training of Operators I
- Conduct regular checks and inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure they are running efficiently and within specified parameters.
- Record and log data related to production activities, such as batch numbers, chemical quantities, temperatures, and pressure levels.
- Handle and store chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and company guidelines.
- Participate in safety audits, drills, and training sessions as required.
- Perform in-process quality checks to ensure that products meet specified standards and make adjustments as necessary.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with chemical processes or equipment, working to resolve them quickly to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, calibration, and minor repairs, and report any major issues to the maintenance team using the maintenance work order system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, including batch logs, maintenance records, and safety reports.
- Record operational data, such as temperatures, pressures, ingredients used, processing times, or test results.
- Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients, according to specifications.
- Prepare and submit reports or and/or shift notes to supervisors detailing production outcomes, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
- Work closely with the quality control team to ensure product samples are delivered and tested for specific chemical characteristics; pH levels, concentrations, viscosities, etc. and address any defects or inconsistencies in the production process.
- Suggest and implement improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Other activities as assigned by management.
