Inova Center for Personalized Health-Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Childbirth Educator to join the Inova Well Childbirth team. This role will be PRN.

Job Responsibilities :
The Childbirth Educator informs and empowers new and expectant parents through evidence-based perinatal health education. Provides important information (according to their area of expertise) as families prepare for birth, newborn care, and / or breastfeeding. Provides excellent educational experience.
Reviews class rosters and appropriately plans activities for class participants.
Provides instruction based on specified Inova Well program curriculum. Appropriately utilizes education materials and audio / visual learning aids to enhance program effectiveness. Responds accurately and appropriately to participant questions and issues.
Demonstrates ability to apply research and standards as issues emerge during learning situations.
Gathers and communicates participant and site contact feedback to the program manager. Obtains and returns necessary supplies, equipment in a timely manner. Completes and delivers all paperwork in a timely manner.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements :
Work Schedule : PRN
Education : Associate's degree
Certification : Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (ICEA, CAPPA and other Childbirth Education Certifications also considered. If Registered Nurse, no need for these certifications). BLS from AHA required within 3 months of hire.
Licensure : If ADN or BSN, licensed as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
