Position Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising production floor employees. They will contribute to the success of the organization by driving and supporting employee engagement efforts and ensuring an optimal balance of quality, service and efficiency to provide operational excellence.
Key Accountabilities :
Ensure production activities are performed and completed to effectively optimize production :
Oversee and mentor production associates including delegation of work assignments, prioritization of duties, and scheduling employees.
Evaluate processes and methods, to make appropriate recommendations to continuously improve methods, equipment performance, utilization of people, and quality of product and safety objectives including the completion of all required production paperwork through accountability and coaching.
Address and resolve inquiries and problems regarding production, quality, and work issues.
Ensure all quality standards and procedures are maintained by administrating quality procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, environmental sanitation, food safety, and housekeeping.
Oversee the completion of all production paperwork (records, inventory, sanitation reports, processing charts, etc.)
Ensure safety and training in the workplace :
Participate in safety efforts including attending safety meetings, incident investigations, assisting in root cause analysis and auditing.
Administer company policies and procedures including OSHA and safety.
Schedule and document training of new and present employees.
Schedule and delegate overtime according to the collective bargaining agreement.
Build a culture of operational excellence :
Coordinate all shift activities between shifts to ensure a smooth and efficient transition.
Manage environmental sanitation programs and assist with regulatory inspections and customer audits.
Review department practices and processes and suggest improvements.
Liaise with other stakeholders to support goals and plans to ensure consistency across all functions.
Coordinating special plant-wide functions such as production planning and / or scheduling, sanitation, safety, etc.
Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma / GED.
1 year of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor s degree in manufacturing or related field.
3 years of job-related experience.
Physical Setting :
Job Setting : Regular presence in the workplace is required. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed and participate with an on-call schedule.
