QA Lab Technician

Overview : The primary function of this position is to ensure the integrity and safety of food products throughout the manufacturing process utilizing various standards and established testing methods, operating procedures, and adherence to protocols and policies. A critical goal of this function position is to support and assist the Quality Assurance (QA) Department and Management Team in all aspects to drive the continuous improvement of quality. Provide technical support with an emphasis on consumer requirements, continuous product quality improvement and productivity requirements.Essential Functions : This position involves a combination of visually monitoring various aspects of plant operations, or physically obtaining samples and testing in the Q.A. LabTrained to conduct sanitation inspections on a pre-operational basis Perform all applicable analytical tests on raw ingredients, in-process and finished products Prepare testing solutions, equipment calibrations, general maintenance and upkeep of laboratory Assist in identifying and managing HOLD products and the rework processMonitoring and validation of HACCP and all quality check pointsAssist management in implementation of procedures, protocols and policies, and monitoring for compliance of suchPerform data entry on QA database and assist management in data trendingIdentify quality, procedure and policy deviations; effectively report such deviations and provide accurate information in a timely manner and as neededParticipate in our continuous improvement plansProvides technical assistance to production personnel as neededMaintain a safe work environment for all employeesPerform other duties as assignedSkill / Experience Requirements : Strong analytical and problem solving skillsSound decision and teamwork skills are essentialComputer skills, including word processing and spreadsheetsProvide a safe work environment through auditing of working conditionsFamiliar with GMPs, SOPs, and FDA regulated environmentAbility to follow written procedures and established test methodsEffective verbal and written communication skillsGeneral knowledge of production processes, food lab instrumentation, laboratory test methodsAbility to follow verbal and written instructions and have good organizational skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to perform office and data entry workAbility to perform some physical lifting up to 50 lbsBunge (NYSE : BG) is a world leader in sourcing, processing and supplying oilseed and grain products and ingredients.
