Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Lactation Consultant -Part Time (Days/Evenings)

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Inpatient Lactation Consultant to join the team. This position offers part-time hours, with day and evening shifts totaling 20 hours per week.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Lactation Consultant Additional Requirements:

• Work schedule: Days/Evenings shifts, 20 hours/week, evenings shifts end at 11:00pm. Schedule may vary depending on applicants availability: Five 8-hour shifts in two weeks, (three shifts one week and two the next or vice versa) 4 weekend shifts in six weeks, all weekend shifts will be day shift. (730-4 pm or 0830-1700) all weekday shifts will be evenings 3p-1130p. OR A 12 and an 8-hour shift each week (all weekend shifts will be day shift, 4 weekend shifts in six weeks). The weekends will be 8-hour shifts, the 12 hour Evening shift (11-1130) will be on a weekday). • Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience : Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
• Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Lactation Consultant Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient postpartum unit
• Candidates who currently hold an IBCLC certification, or those who are within one year of obtaining their IBCLC certification.
