The Director of Behavioral Health (IBH) Central Access develops and implements a strategic plan and vision for the Central Access and Emergency Services programs. Develops and maintains relationships with Community Service Board Directors of the Region II Emergency Services and other external customers/stakeholders to identify unmet needs and incorporate them into the strategic plan. Maintains effective and responsive relationships with patients, attends medical staff and other departments. Provides leadership for site managers including day to day supervision, team member relations and staff development.

Director, Behavioral Health, Central Access Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the day to day operation of all Inova Health System Central Access and Emergency Services program related activities.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community to identify unmet needs.
- Stays informed of current industry developments and incorporates evidence based practices into treatment programs.
- Ensures adherence to service excellence standards and the provision of outstanding service to internal and external customers.
- Develops ongoing staff development programs for medical/surgical staff to identify and effectively treat patients with substance abuse problems through Inova.
- Coordinates and monitors the development of long range plans and annual budgets for Central Access and Emergency Services Program.
- Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationships accordingly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Licensure - Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor
- Experience - Five years of related work experience
- Education - Master's Degree
- Experience in emergency psychiatric care services
- Previous work in an emergency room within a hospital setting
- Experience working within a highly matrixed healthcare system with multiple hospitals
