- Under the direct supervision of the site physician or physician extender, performs various duties related to stress testing which include but are not limited to: patient preparation, assisting with the administration of exercise and pharmacological stress tests, IV insertions, ECG placement and interpretation, Holter monitor placement (where applicable).
- Reads and translates medical terminology written by physicians and/or physician extenders for obtaining ECG tracings, stress testing, and related activities as evidenced by direct observation.
- Practices an aseptic technique for initiating and maintaining intravenous cannulation devices and related activities as evidenced by direct observation.
- Processes applicable testing, vitals signs, and required documentation for physician interpretation, accurate record keeping, and billing, as evidenced by direct observation.
- Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start / Upon Start Cardiac Stress Technician Certification or equivalent certification, or LPN, or EMT-Paramedic, or Exercise Physiology degree, or Exercise Science degree OR two years of Inova Clin Tech experience in lieu of the certification
- Licensure - None required
- Experience - 1-year Acute Hospital and/or cardiology
- Education - High School or GED
- KSAs - Communication Proficiency in English; organizational and analytical skills
