The Opportunity 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Demand Planner to join our ANZ Supply Chain team on a full-time permanent basis.  

 

Reporting to the Sales & Operational Planning Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to  

Key accountabilities include: 


1. Demand Planning / Forecasting

  • Accurately manage the demand planning and forecasting process, over a 36-month horizon, for select categories, channels / customers & brands
  • Ensure plans are updated and circulated each month in time for Monthly Demand Review process
  • Maintain and update demand history, to create an historical record that can be used to produce accurate statistical forecasts
  • Maintain monthly forecast accuracy reporting, including key error root cause analysis
  • To measure Bias and MAPE.

       

2. Demand Reviews

  • Develop account and brand specific forecasts to facilitate monthly demand review meetings, with sales & marketing involvement, each S&OP cycle. Use a collaborative approach to ensure current and accurate information is captured and agreed upon in these consensus reviews
    • Monthly demand review conducted by SKU exception
    • MAPE and bias reporting for each product family
  •  Drive the improvement of demand forecast accuracy by determining the appropriate algorithm for statistical forecasts
  • Review sales trends, understand demand drivers, provide input into forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Monitor forecasts vs demand and sales quantities. Identify material exceptions and provide recommendations on changes to forecasts. Understand root causes of forecast variances and focus on areas for improvement
  • Ensure promotional activity is included in forecasts with agreed timelines
  • Provide input on demand review process improvement


3. Data Management

  • Provide input into elements of the S&OP data in decks to facilitate the meetings through the S&OP cycle; ensure timeliness of input and accuracy of data to decks


4. Reporting 

  • To generate ad hoc reports and undertake data analysis to support business unit decision making
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of reports supplied / requested


5. Additional Responsibilities

  • Proactively create process documentation and assessment of business and process improvements
  • Identify, develop and implement best practice policies, procedures and systems for inventory management, planning and various components of the S&OP process
  • Ensure documentation flowed and any necessary changes are updated and signed off
  • Project support or participation in transformational projects relating to Supply Chain, including new product launches, changes to existing activities and the integration of new business activities


About You 

To be successful in this role you will possess demand planner experience in pharmaceuticals, consumer health care or FMCG and previous exercise in a similar role will also be considered. 


Other key requirements for this role include:


  • Tertiary qualification in a Supply Chain, Operations or Business related discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience in demand planning & forecasting processes
  • SAP IBP planning tool experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with SAP ECC desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft applications – Powerpoint, Outlook
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain in FMCG and healthcare environments
  • Exposure to S&OP culture
  • Self-starter attitude
  • Communication – must have the ability to communicate widely within and outside the business
  • Analytical Skills – must have the ability to analyse and interpret data and make recommendations
  • Negotiation Skills – must have the ability to negotiate well with internal and external customers
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines, prioritise and attention to detail
