Director, Diagnostic Imaging (Inova Fair Oaks Hospital)

The Director of Diagnostic Imaging directs the operation of radiological and imaging services providing inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and / or trauma radiology services by ensuring department quality, efficiency, and responsiveness. Ensures that safety requirements are met for all radiological and imaging services. Maintains effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff and other departments. Manages department finances including budgeting, control of salary / non-salary, and capital investment expenses.Job Responsibilities : Oversees the day-to-day operation of all radiological and imaging services including, but not limited to, Diagnostic Radiography, Mammography, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional, Emergency Department, and Operating Room Imaging.Organizes, monitors, and coordinates all performance improvement and quality control activities.                Provides technical assistance to all areas of the operating unit regarding radiological / imaging services and radiology safety.      Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationships accordingly.Minimum Requirements : Experience :  Seven years of management experience in leading radiology services in a hospital or healthcare-related setting.Education :  Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or related Radiological Science field; or Associate's degree or Graduate of an accredited school / program of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine with additional 2 years experience.  If no Bachelors degree, CRA certificate within 24 months of hire / transfer. Certifications : Basic Life Support upon startAmerican Registered Radiologic Technologists upon start; Certified Radiologic Technologist in Virginia, or ARRT or ARDMS or CNT or CVT or NMTCB or RVT or CAMRT or NMTCB; as applicable with additional certification in an applicable imaging modality required.Licensure :  Licensed Radiologic Technologist Upon Start.
