Position: Flexographic Press Operator
Reports to: Production Manager
Shift Hours: Monday – Friday 1pm to 9PM
Key Objective: To be a team player while creating some of the best labels in the country by setting up and efficiently running a Flexo Press.
Key Tasks:
- Mount and/or remount plates (as needed).
- Mix inks (as needed).
- Complete start-up checklists for all jobs run.
- Setup and operate press for production.
- Record stock usage.
- Use strobe and/or video web monitor for in-process inspection.
- Flag defective labels for rewind/inspection.
- Use spectrophotometer and densitometer (as required).
- Tag finished product for traceability.
- Complete required paperwork upon job completion.
- Communicate with opposite shift on any job or press related concerns.
- Press clean up and maintenance.
Experience:
Previous experience operating finishing presses or similar mechanical/electromechanical equipment preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust equipment.
Color Theory: Knowledge of color theory and ability to make adjustments and color corrections while operating equipment.
Attention to Detail: Ability to catch errors early and make precise adjustments to ensure quality.
Basic Math & Computer Skills: Ability to measure, calculate, and use basic computer programs.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as needed, and work in a manufacturing setting.
