Position Overview
The General Laborer/Utility Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the production environment. This role ensures the timely removal of spent materials, assists with production changeovers, and supports operators as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and efficient in handling multiple tasks to support the overall operations of The Kennedy Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove and replace matrix bins from press areas.
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris from production areas.
- Store, pull, and restock materials in designated locations.
- Assist press operators with changeovers, teardowns, and other tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S principles.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet production needs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows-based software preferred.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Work is performed in a printing production facility, with exposure to noise, inks, and chemicals.
- Requires standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be flexible to support production needs, including occasional voluntary overtime and weekend work.
