Position Overview: We’re seeking a Techquity Digital Navigator to join our team on a part-time basis (20-25 hours per week) to advance digital equity in our community. As a Digital Navigator, you’ll work directly with clients to help them gain digital skills, troubleshoot technical issues, and feel confident using technology for everyday needs. Your role will involve guiding individuals through technology setup, supporting them during laptop distribution events, and providing ongoing digital literacy training.

Responsibilities:

Client Support and Engagement:

  • Assist clients with device setup (e.g., laptops, tablets), internet connectivity, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Provide guidance on safe internet practices, including cybersecurity and protecting personal information.
  • Conduct follow-up outreach with clients to offer continued support and address additional digital literacy needs.

Community Training and Digital Literacy:

  • Conduct one-on-one and small group sessions to help clients navigate digital tools and resources confidently.
  • Facilitate community-based digital literacy workshops that meet the specific needs of seniors, individuals with limited digital access, and other underserved groups.
  • Encourage and support clients in exploring online resources, including telehealth, education, and essential services.

Case Management and Impact Tracking:

  • Document client interactions and progress in case management systems to track outcomes and support follow-up.
  • Work closely with team members to gather and report on client success metrics, providing insights to improve service delivery.

Community Engagement with Cultural Sensitivity:

  • Act as a supportive digital guide for diverse populations, ensuring cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in every interaction.
  • Engage with local community events, promoting digital literacy resources and offering digital navigation services in a way that builds trust and rapport.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with common digital devices (laptops, tablets, smartphones) and basic troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of internet safety, privacy practices, and online security essentials.
  • Experience using case management software or similar tools to document and track interactions.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical information for clients with varied digital experience levels.
  • Comfort with public speaking and leading small group trainings or workshops.
  • Excellent listening skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to client support.

Community Engagement and Sensitivity:

  • Prior experience working with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and underserved groups, is a plus.
  • Ability to engage with clients respectfully, using cultural humility and responsiveness.
  • Experience in a customer service, educational, or training role is preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in a digital literacy or community support role is beneficial but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • A background in social work, community engagement, education, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Passion for digital equity and the commitment to helping bridge the digital divide.

Work Schedule:This is a part-time position, with an expected weekly commitment of 20-25 hours. Scheduling may include evenings or weekends to accommodate community events.
