We are currently seeking a qualified Logistics Supervisor to join our Supply Chain team.
What you will do:
The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for daily domestic and international transportation management and carrier procurement to meet Inpro’s internal and external needs. Duties include carrier contracting, performance tracking, freight payment and freight claims management. This person is responsible for managing our hazardous materials program including training, packaging and documentation in accordance with DOT, IATA & IMDG.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all carrier prospecting, management, negotiations and relations leading to a strong long term partnership for small package, LTL, TL & expedited transportation
- Employee Development
- Manage the execution of daily shipping - both inbound and outbound
- Develop and automate transportation support for Shipping, Purchasing, Sales and Customers
- Understanding of NMFC and dimensional weight factors
- Manage freight claims and invoice audits
- Maintain goals and report on carrier quality and on time performance monthly
- Partner with Shipping, Purchasing, Quality and Carriers to reduce damage and loss and improve packaging
- Manage quoting and data base to support automation
- Hazardous Materials Management
- Trucking and Fleet Management
- All other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain (preferred) or related Degree
- Minimum 2 years experience working with dangerous goods, understanding domestic and international regulations governing the packaging, transport and management of them
- Current haz mat certificates in DOT, IATA and IMDG
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business software skills, including databases, spreadsheets, document controls, file management and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- LEED Green Associate certification preferred
Job Relationship
- Reports directly to Supply Chain Manager
- Direct reports are Logistic Coordinators, International Specialist, International Compliance Specialist and Fleet Team Members
