Position Qualifications:
Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, and meet the requirements below
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 0-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in commercial, industrial, or healthcare environments.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Day-to-day tasks include, but not limited to the following:
Essential Functions:
- Perform arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies using SKM Power*Tools to ensure electrical system safety and compliance.
- Design and specify switchgear, panelboards, transformers, and other distribution equipment to meet project requirements.
- Design data and structured cabling systems, ensuring compliance with TIA/EIA and BICSI standards for telecommunications and networking infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineers, field staff, and contractors to develop installation details aligned with project needs.
- Contribute to cost estimates, system calculations, and technical specifications for project designs.
- Work collaboratively with junior engineers, designers, and CAD/BIM teams to ensure quality and consistency across projects.
- Provide technical support to proposal teams, assisting with design input and project feasibility assessments.
- Assist in reviewing and approving electrical design drawings to ensure they meet specifications, client requirements, and regulatory codes.
- Create fire alarm system designs, including device layouts, riser diagrams, in compliance with NFPA 72.
- Develop lighting designs using industry standards and lighting design software (e.g., Agi32, Visual, or Dialux) to ensure compliance with IES recommendations.
- Apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant codes to design and evaluate electrical systems, including load calculations, conductor sizing, grounding, overcurrent protection device (OCPD) sizing, conduit fill, and equipment clearances.
Working/ Environment/ Physical Demands to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
