What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Phlebotomist (PRN) position at InReach Community Dx?
We are seeking a part-time phlebotomist to work Monday - Thursday mornings and full days on Fridays in a primary care setting. The part-time phlebotomist may have the opportunity to work additional hours Monday - Thursday if the regular weekday phlebotomist in unable to work, which may include both scheduled & unscheduled absences.
Generally, the part-time phlebotomist will work 16 - 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities/Skills:
- Draw & prepare blood specimens for transport to local laboratory.
- Submit online test orders and/or complete paper requisitions.
- Data entry of patient demographics & insurance information into laboratory portal.
- Organize incoming test results.
- Facilitate communication between physicians' office, laboratory, account manager, and billing team.
- Knowledgeable in the performance of procedures and use of pertinent equipment
- Read and abide by all applicable laboratory department policies and procedures, both on an annual basis and on an ongoing basis for any provided updates. The phlebotomist is a key player in performance improvement activities.
- A high level of professionalism and customer focused behavior is required of the phlebotomist as they are the visible representatives of the laboratory.
Qualifications:
- Must be certified to perform phlebotomy OR have a minimum of one (1) year prior experience in similar setting.
