What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Office Phlebotomist position at InReach Community Dx?
The In-Office Phlebotomist will be placed in a family medicine practice to collect specimens on behalf of Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital. Workdays are Monday – Friday and shifts will generally be from 8:30am - 6:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Draw and prepare blood specimens for transport to hospital laboratory.
- Submit online test orders and/or complete paper requisitions.
- Communicate with site staff to ensure collection of complete and accurate information, such as diagnosis codes, insurance information, etc.
- Data entry of patient demographics and insurance information into laboratory portal.
- Organize incoming test results.
- Provide a basic description of the Outpatient Program to patients, including a brief explanation of billing options.
- Facilitate communication between providers, laboratory, account manager, and billing team.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Complete additional laboratory project assignments in conjunction with the Regional Account Manager.
- Read and abide by all applicable laboratory department policies and procedures.
Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively by sharing and receiving information from multiple sources.
- A high level of professionalism and customer focused behavior is required of the phlebotomist as they are the visible representatives of the laboratory.
- Knowledgeable in the performance of procedures and use of pertinent equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
