Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Inventory Staff. As an Inventory Staff member, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels, analyzing sales data, and implementing process improvements. This is a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory management system.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Be part of inventory team, communicate, resolve problems, and conduct training.
- Oversee purchase orders, data entry, and shipping and receiving.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies, communicate, resolve and document any issues in a timely manner.
- Track, audit, and ensure adequate supply of inventory throughout the organization.
- Monitor all cycle count programs and maintain consistency and accuracy. Identifying all operational problems in inventory and addressing them immediately.
- Monitor all procurement requests of facilities and maintain records.
- Prepare and update all required paperwork for vendor products. Oversee all inbound deliveries, ensure accurate receiving procedures and handling of inventory. Provide feedback and improvements where necessary.
- Report any shortages or damages of inventory and communicate to management and manufacturers.
- Maintain records of all variances accordingly, to establish procedures and accuracy of all product transfers from one facility to another.
- Attend to all product returns from customers. Ensure proper documentation and communication to manufacturer.
- Determine and ensure optimal security of all materials and arrange for all shipments as per requirement.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions.
- Maintain proper function and maintanence of all equipment and tools
- Actively manage inventory, recalls, and pricing to meet cost and sales targets.
- Maintain a general awareness of cannabis and retail trends to help create innovative and adaptive strategies. Work closely with grower-processors to understand and learn about their products.
- Maintain excellent facilities conducive to enhancing employee productivity.
- Work with the Dispensary Manager to meet all regulatory requirements and rules governed by the NJ CRC. Correct all violations with a sense of urgency.
- Work with management team (finance, marketing, security) to ensure standards are met. Maintain open lines of communication with staff.
- Promote open feedback from reception, retail staff, and security.
- Become a subject matter expert in New Jersey’s seed-to-sale tracking system Metrc and integrated systems.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years and older.
- 1 years of inventory experience in retail, restaurant, grocery, or other service industry.
- Experience using inventory software that enables accurate tracking of inventory.
- Cannabis experience is a plus.
- Work/manage coverage of weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Must be flexible regarding work schedule and willing to work 5-6 days per week including evening and weekends including opening and closing shifts, with possibility of overnight inventory counts.
- Have a proven track record of working effectively with inventories with a minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.
