Our client is InSearch of a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Specialist with strong payroll expertise and advanced Excel skills to join their team. This role will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently while leveraging Excel for data analysis, reporting, and process optimization. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of payroll laws and regulations, excellent problem-solving abilities, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $70,000-75,000 annually
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.) to analyze payroll data, create reports, and improve processes.
- Maintain payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any payroll-related issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and reporting.
- Stay up to date on payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Assist in audits, payroll reconciliations, and year-end processing, including W-2 preparation.
- Identify opportunities for payroll process improvements and automation.
Qualifications
- 3 years of payroll processing experience in a corporate or multi-state environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom, or similar).
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
