Research Scientist

Job Description:

InsectaPel is seeking a full-time Research Scientist with expertise in polymers and coatings to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on in developing innovative polymeric coatings infused with novel insect repellents for use in surface treatments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science, chemistry, or engineering and will contribute to research, product development, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Synthesize and characterize new polymeric materials for coating applications
• Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate coating performance and durability
• Analyze data and optimize formulations for enhanced product performance
• Maintain detailed records of experiments, results, and findings
• Assist in scale-up and commercialization efforts for new formulations
• Collaborate with senior personnel and engineers on research projects
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Polymers, Textile Chemistry, or a related field
• Hands-on laboratory experience in polymer synthesis and/or coatings formulation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with polymer characterization techniques, textile treatments and coating testing
• Knowledge of surface coatings or related applications
• Familiarity with naturally derived raw materials for applications in coatings
