Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Maintenance Manager for a manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.
Position Summary :
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the manufacturing plant to ensure machinery, equipment, and facilities are operating efficiently and safely. This role requires leadership in planning, organizing, and coordinating maintenance activities to maximize production uptime, comply with safety and quality standards, and optimize cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise, train, and mentor the maintenance team, including technicians and support staff.
- Establish and maintain work schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and response to maintenance needs.
- Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Monitor the effectiveness of maintenance plans and make improvements as needed.
- Oversee troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of equipment and machinery to minimize disruptions.
- Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including costs for labor, parts, and equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for parts, services, and maintenance contracts.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies to ensure quick turnaround for repairs.
- Oversee the upkeep of plant facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and other infrastructure.
- Manage building maintenance and address issues as they arise.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements as necessary.
- Participate in plant-wide initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a maintenance management role in a manufacturing environment.
