DESCRIPTION:
An InServ Assistant Project Manager is responsible for working closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery from preconstruction to closeout. The APM will be involved in expediting, project management, inspection, and logistics management tasks to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Project Managers in overseeing all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution
- Manage, evaluate, and assess information necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the quality specified by the contract documents.
- Create, update, and maintain project controls tracking cost, schedule, changes, submittals, and quality control
- Prepare bid packages and solicit and evaluate bids
- Organize and document project meetings
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely project completion
- Assist in procurement processes, including soliciting vendor pricing and recommending contract awards
- Prepare accurate and concise contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
- Support the change order management process by obtaining pricing and developing estimates and proposals
- Review and coordinate shop drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents
- Assist in the project close-out process to ensure timely completion
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and quality
- Serve as a liaison between project management and team members, conveying important updates and gathering feedback
- Management of assigned trades to include quantity take-off, preparations of bid packages and procurement.
- Prepare project status reports and assist in creating project proposals
- Participate in all relevant staff meetings and project-related discussions
Qualifications:
- Preferred candidate will have 2-4 years of related MEP industry experience.
- Experience working on construction projects valued from 100k-5million .
- A four year college degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent education and work experience.
- A creative thinker who can devise effective solutions to clients’ industrial contracting problems.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and industry standards
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven work environment.
PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK:
- The ability to work indoors and/or outdoors in moderate to extreme conditions. Examples are: cold for food processing or pharmaceutical work or outdoor work in winter; hot work around ovens or outdoor work in summertime.
- The ability to frequently climb over, crouch under and move around operating production equipment in constraining spaces.
- The ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time, and to be able to walk uneven terrain, climb and descend access ladders to access basements, interstitial spaces, and roof areas.
- The ability to load, offload, and carry within plant facilities the material and equipment needed by your crews, weighing up to 40lbs
- This is a project-based role and will require travel to various US site locations.
- This position requires the ability to work nights and weekends for shutdowns and fast-track projects.
- This position could require the ability to be away from home for up to one week at a time.
Primary Location: Fuquay-Varina, Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area & up to 100 mile radius
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
