Job Summary: Skilled and experienced Industrial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. As an Industrial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining sheet metal components for industrial HVAC systems. Your expertise in sheet metal fabrication, equipment installation, and system troubleshooting will be crucial to ensuring the efficient and effective operation of HVAC systems in various industrial settings.
Experience: Previous experience working as an Industrial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic or similar role in the HVAC industry
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: Fabricate and shape sheet metal components, including ducts, pipes, fittings, and other necessary parts using specialized tools, equipment, and machinery. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- System Installation: Install and assemble fabricated sheet metal components, including ductwork, exhaust systems, ventilation systems, and other HVAC-related equipment, according to project requirements and industry standards. Ensure proper sealing, insulation, and structural integrity of installed components.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on industrial HVAC systems, including sheet metal components. Identify and troubleshoot issues related to ductwork, insulation, airflow, and equipment malfunctions. Replace or repair damaged or worn-out parts as necessary.
- Collaborate with Team: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other HVAC professionals to plan and execute projects effectively. Provide input on design modifications, cost estimates, and material requirements. Coordinate with other trades and contractors on-site to ensure smooth project progression.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, protocols, and industry standards while performing all tasks. Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks. Promote and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material usage, equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare reports and documentation as required by the company and clients.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, welding, and soldering.
- Strong understanding of industrial HVAC systems, equipment, and components.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Competence in using hand and power tools, as well as specialized sheet metal fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of ductwork design, airflow principles, and insulation materials.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
