Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Assist Director of Athletics and other senior staff members with managing and supervising various administrative, recruiting, and fundraising operations of the Athletics Department. Provide leadership, support, and input regarding various departmental operations including external engagement and hospitality.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate and oversee the recruitment cycle for prospective student-athletes in revenue sports (i.e. high school, junior college, transfer portal, etc.). Including the supervision of graduate assistants and student interns in the recruitment and hospitality area.
- Prepare and distribute recruiting information / correspondence in select sports and areas.
- Provide leadership, detailing planning, communication and coordination in support of all on-and-off campus visits with prospective student-athletes and families, including but not limited to : coordination with MSU Representatives on on-campus tours and gameday schedules in select sports and areas.
- Plan on-campus recruiting visits and / or gamedays for prospective student-athletes and their families
- Plan and coordinate annual fundraising events and other hospitality based events for the department under the guidance and direction of the Director of Athletics (Including but not limited to Hall of Fame, 50 yard line, Diamond Club, Homecoming, and other special events).
- Communicate with athletic donors regarding enhanced philanthropic and financial support.
- Work with the Dennis Jackson Leadership Program as a liaison to several areas in support of external events, hospitality and annual recognition events.
- Create graphics, videos, and social media content for use on official visit days, for social media use in conjunction with special events, and during official visit weekends and events as needed.
- Serve as one of a few key communicators with Racer Football Alumni and other alumni organizations in coordination with the Director of Athletics.
- Collaborate with Director of Athletics on strategic initiatives in support of program growth and development.
- Coordinate and gather all information, oversee agenda, coordinate guest speakers, and facilitate monthly all department meetings.
- Assist with support and information in the area of procurement.
- Assist with support and information with any special services contracts.
- Assist with planning executive travel and executive travel support.
- Assist the ticket office and compliance office in coordination of pass lists, credentials, and tickets for prospective student-athletes and families during official visits.
- Assist (non-voting) with the Hall of Fame committee meetings.
- Work with the Director of Athletics for facility tours, special arrangements, and hospitality during donor visits and donor functions during home contests and special events.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support for the Director of Athletics.
- Perform general functions in order for the department to run smoothly and efficiently.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, events, appointments, and / or other similar activities for Director of Athletics, which may include coordinating travel and lodging requirements.
- Handle confidential information from the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC), Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
- Update and distribute the departmental policies and procedures manual under the direction of the Director of Athletics.
- Perform a variety of tasks which require a wide range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist Director and staff in problem solving, project planning, and development and execution of stated goals and objectives.
- Maintain a working knowledge of OVC, MVC, MVFC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Be knowledgeable of NCAA and OVC / MVFC rules
- Other duties as assigned.
- As a member of the Murray State University Athletic Department, you shall comply with all applicable NCAA rules and regulations as provided in the NCAA Division I Manual. If you are found in violation of NCAA regulations, you shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations.
