Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall management and direction of facility operations, facility rentals, and aquatic programming at the Dr. Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center and Fitness and Movement Clinic. Tracks accident and incident reports, conducts inspections and risk management assessments, and implements any appropriate changes to ensure quality control. Responsible for ensuring quality control measures including customer service and facility maintenance are effective. Collects and summarizes facility usage, user satisfaction surveys, and student staff learning outcomes for annual reporting. Develops, interprets, implements, and enforces policies and procedures as they relate to the safe and orderly use of facilities, including general questions and disciplinary hearings.
- Develops, administers, and monitors the annual budget for fitness facility operations and aquatic programs including staff wages, expenses, and revenue generation, which includes ordering, invoicing, and receiving items.
- Coordinates shared facility space in the Dr. Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center and Fitness and Movement Clinic. Collaborates with academic departments, athletic training, and physical therapy services on room scheduling, access control, permanent equipment purchases and equipment installation and repair. Coordinates regular and special event facility scheduling for various user groups including Campus Recreation, registered student organizations, University groups, and external (non-FSU) groups. Provides direction and support for all aspects of facility rentals. Provides detailed consultation to user groups to ensure scheduled activities are within Departmental and University event management guidelines. Responsible for coordinating required contractual agreements and all financial accountability, including invoicing and payment tracking.
- Supervises and mentors Recreation Coordinator for Facility Operations and Recreation Coordinator for Aquatics. Performs performance evaluations as required. Provides leadership and support systems for student and staff development. Assists with the recruitment, selection, hiring, training, evaluation, and termination of facility supervisors, program assistants, and maintenance staff totaling up to 8 FTE of part time staff. Provides leadership and support systems for student and staff development in collaboration with Coordinators.
- Works with Maintenance Staff to evaluate and coordinate major facility and fitness equipment purchases, installation, and repair. Oversees solicitation, evaluation, and execution of custodial and other vendor contracts. Creates requisitions for purchase orders and ensures accurate and timely payments. Serves as a property custodian for department.
- Cultivates partnerships throughout the University and serves on various University, Divisional and Campus Recreation committees. Performs other duties that support the mission of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Affairs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and / or student services; or a high school diploma / equivalent and eight years of the same experience. (Note : a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sport Management, College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or related field.

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position is in the mid $50,000’s, commensurate with experience and education.
