Assistant Professor in Special Education

Open Position :

Lehigh University’s College of Education invites applications for a tenure track position in special education at the assistant professor rank, with anticipated start date of  July 1, 2025.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a doctorate in special education or a related field by date of hire. The successful candidate will have at least three years of clinical or Pre K–12 teaching experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with strong expertise in ASD, and will be expected to maintain a rigorous research agenda and pursue external funding, in a collaborative and supportive environment. To be considered, candidates must have experience teaching in higher education as an instructor of record or teaching assistant.

Position Summary :

We are seeking a faculty member who has expertise in autism spectrum disorder. The candidate will maintain a rigorous research agenda, while pursuing external funding in a collaborative and supportive environment. The candidate will teach graduate-level courses, including teacher preparation and doctoral courses, engage in scholarly activities, mentor master’s and doctoral students, and participate in departmental, college, and university service. The candidate will also have the opportunity to conduct research at the College of Education’s autism clinic (Lehigh University Autism Services).
