Overview
The Touro University Graduate School of Social work is seeking candidates for a full-time (10-month appointment) Assistant Professor in Social Work, with extensive asynchronous online education experience and specialization in clinical practice for the online portion of the MSW program. We welcome applications from candidates in the United States, able to work in eastern standard time, who seek to build an academic career in a clinical online social work program. Ideal candidates will have a defined area of research and scholarship, background in social work practice, with comprehensive and extensive teaching experience in asynchronous distance education. Distance education experience should include course design, instructional design experience, asynchronous best practices, instruction / teaching in asynchronous courses, student advising, mentoring and supporting adjunct faculty and colleagues, ability to engage students in the online environment both in and out of the classroom, developing and leading trainings, currency with evolving technology (simulations and artificial intelligence), CSWE accreditation experience, working to ensure high quality and high engagement levels with faculty and students, and course lead or sequence lead experience. A typical workday will entail teaching, advising, and meetings. Faculty carry a 21-credit workload per academic year and are expected to teach, advise students, and engage in scholarship. Faculty participate in MSW program activities as needed (orientation, community days, committee meetings, and curriculum development), and will also contribute on departmental and university-wide committees. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Teaching asynchronous courses according to workload assignments
- Service to the Department, University, and Community
- Research / Scholarship, including publication, social work academic conferences, & funded research
- Academic advising for students in distance education
- Participate in standing and ad-hoc committees
- Participate in program events, such as orientation and graduation.
- Build, strengthen, and support community relations
- Highly engaged and responsive during stipulated work hours
