Advertised Job Summary :
Audit and Advisory Services is seeking to hire an Auditor to join our team.
The Auditor is responsible for completing all stages of audit and advisory engagements across the University system to provide reasonable assurance that risk management, control, and governance systems are functioning as intended. This involves planning, performing, and documenting the results of operational, financial, and compliance engagements. This position is the journey-level of the audit roles.
The Auditor will interact with many levels of University administration and is expected to possess strong communication skills. The candidate is expected to work under moderate supervision with general latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Specific job duties include :
- Partner with management to assess risks- Plan, design and perform audit tests, and prepare workpapers to document tests performed- Perform evaluations of financial and control systems and make appropriate recommendations to strengthen controls and / or improve processes- Communicate the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports to management and the Board of Trustees- Work with management to reach a satisfactory resolution of findings and action plans- Provide management advisory services
- Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training- Represent AAS on organizational project teams and with external organizations- Other duties as assigned
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience :
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and / or experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 1 year of professional-level experience in accounting, auditing or financial management, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and / or experience.
CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA is preferred (or working towards obtaining one of the certifications).
Knowledge of higher education industry policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

Under general supervision with limited autonomy, complete audit and advisory engagements, ensuring they are thoroughly performed and of the highest quality, completed in accordance with IIA professional standards and Audit & Advisory Services procedures.
