We are seeking a Billing / Revenue Analyst to apply the principles of invoicing receivables. Primary responsibilities include compiling invoices for billing and reconciling reports. Familiarity with and an awareness of the policies and procedures that apply to billing are required to ensure compliance and knowledge of JHTV data systems. The Billing / Revenue Analyst will maintain open communication with Licensees, Hopkins departments, and Hopkins affiliates as well as department management.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Finance.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Administers ~150 monthly scheduled and ad-hoc license billings for Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures, managing revenue collection and patent expense reimbursements.
- Uses JHTV’s internal IP database, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and network file system to accurately prepare and distribute receivables, compiling complex billing backup for legal reimbursement dossiers.
- Monitors JHTV billing inbox, proactively addressing customer inquiries, vendor onboarding, and coordinating with Finance Analysts and Licensing Team on complex emails.
- Utilizes internal resources to address special invoice formatting or coding requirements by select licensees.
- Revises and resubmits vendor invoices to meet special billing requirements or address issues.
- Works closely with JHTV Finance team to ensure timely updates of customer billing contacts, purchase orders, and special billing requirements in JHTV’s IP database.
- Collaborates with JHTV Finance for effective use of customer billing portals.
- Creates ad-hoc invoices within a 2-day turnaround time as requested by JHTV Licensing team or customers.
- Utilizes JHU’s SAP accounting system to submit external vendor invoices and incoming customer receivables for payment, supporting JHTV Finance’s overall workload.
- Participates in special projects optimizing JHTV’s billing procedures and systems.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination.
