Job Summary
The cashier performs a variety of cashiering duties, including taking money from students in the form of tuition and fees. The position's primary focus is on customer service and helping students.
Typical Job Functions
- Provides exceptional customer service as the college cashier
- Receives money from students in the form of tuition and fees, which includes setting up payment plans
- Assists in the setting up of student sponsorships, advanced opportunity, and out-of-district fees
- Disburses financial aid refund checks
- Balances out the cash register at the end of each day
- Answers telephone calls and assists walk-up customers
- Processes non-credit and sponsorship aging report (AGBL)
- Assists with Accounts payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) as needed
- Processes paper-cut purchase to student accounts
- Processes payments for testing center
- Assists with vehicle and event scheduling as requested
- Performs filing and other administrative duties
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Experience with Accounts Payable and Receivable
Experience working with spreadsheets
Experience in higher education
Bilingual (Spanish)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and / or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
Onsite work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
Background Investigations : Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and / or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225 : Background Checks
