The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, located in the British Virgin Islands (“the BVI”) is seeking an exceptional full-time Computer Science Lecturer to teach in the Business and Computer Studies Department.
The Lecturer must be able to comfortably instruct in at least four of the listed courses :

Microcomputer Application Software
Python Programming
Robotics
Artificial Intelligence
Cyber Security
Data Analytics
Webpage Design
Graphic Design
Desktop Publishing
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Possess strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team, collaborating with other faculty members and contributing to the development of the department and the institution.
Coordinate internships and other student programmes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform instructional related responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, vision, policies and procedures of the College;
Exhibit a record on innovative pedagogy in a face-to-face environment, as well as online.
Develop innovative and attractive course syllabi, which are in line with current industry trends and expectations.
Provide a quality learning experience for all students;
Teach five courses (15-17 credit hours) per semester;
Teach day, evening, weekend and / or online courses at assigned campus / centre. May be assigned to teach courses at more than one location;
Serve as an academic advisor to students
Engage with external institutions, organisations, and the wider community to support research, teaching, and the campus’ strategic objectives.
Assist in the marketing of the Department's programmes and recruitment of students;
Actively participate in Department or College Committees.
Qualifications and Experience
An earned doctoral degree in relevant discipline from an accredited or recognized institution, and a minimum of four (4) years of teaching or other academic experience with evidence of continuing scholarship.
A master’s degree or its equivalent in relevant discipline from an accredited or recognized institution and seven (7) years of successful teaching or other academic experience as a Lecturer, and evidence of continuing scholarship.
Evidence of certifications in at least three (3) of the following areas would be advantageous to the prospective candidate :
Microsoft Office Certified / Microsoft (MCSE)
CAPM, Project Management Institute
MySQL Developer
Oracle Java Certification
CompTIA Security
CompTIA Linux
CompTIA Cloud
CompTIA A
Cisco Certified Technician (Cct)
