Responsibilities
This position serves as the Event Manager for the College of Medicine, assisting in all phases of event management wherever it is needed to include faculty, student, and staff events. Will be responsible for implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to guide students and departments in event planning. This position will provide guidance and support for college departments and serve as a liaison to FSU departments as it relates to event management. The position will be responsible for management of various recurring events held at the College and events held at the discretion of the Dean. Additionally, the position is responsible for the maintenance and reservation of various event materials. This position will also be responsible for the College’s classroom scheduling; will work closely with the academic departments to ensure classrooms are appropriately distributed for student education.
General tasks include :
- Collaboration with others to assist with event planning.
- Provide guidance to departments related to IT needs, staffing, parking, delivery and removal of tables and chairs.
- Communication with Public Affairs for awareness of events.
- Determine event layouts, maps and diagram event set up.
- Manage event materials and supplies for the college.
- Occasional travel, evening / weekend hours for special events, and errands for events.
- Develop and implement policies related to event planning and classroom usage.
