What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Coordinator position at InsideHigherEd?
We are seeking a Facilities Coordinator to be a part of the 555 Penn Facilities Management Team. The Facilities Coordinator provides key support for 555 Pennsylvania Avenue events and facilities services, including set-ups and tear downs. Additionally, this person will assist with furniture movement, supply stocking, and general facility maintenance.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities Event Setup 40%
- Event set up.
- Lock and unlock rooms.
- Set up includes setting up tables, putting out linens, putting out chairs, moving walls, etc.
- Communicate any event-related cleaning needs to janitorial staff.
- General basic maintenance of facilities, including, but not limited to, simple repairs and equipment assembly.
- Tear down will include ensuring that furniture and other supplies are put away.
- Changes can be made to daily work schedules (arrival and departure) to accommodate events.

JHU Equivalency Formula : 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
