The Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Early Childhood Education in the Department of Teacher Education. The successful applicant will be appointed to a full-time nine-month position to begin January 2025. This position could be renewable each year. Candidates must hold the appropriate terminal degree with 18 hours of graduate coursework (or meet the established alternative qualifications) in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field with a minimum of three years successful teaching experience in grades prekindergarten to grade 3 in PK-12 public schools. Prior university experience is preferred. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses and / or supervise field experiences and internships. The candidate will collaborate with the Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education Program on the creation and modification of syllabi.
The Early Childhood Education Program at Coastal Carolina University is a specifically designed program of study that meets educational requirements for South Carolina licensure in grades PreK-3. The Early Childhood Education Program includes extensive clinical experiences in area schools, beginning in the first semester of study in education and continuing through the internship experience at the end of the program. Clinical fieldwork begins with a focus on guided observation experiences, followed by expectations for individual, small-group, and whole-class instruction.
