Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford University, supports the academic mission of the University by providing high-quality services to students and other members of the university community. The department has an annual operating budget of over $350M, operates 24 / 7 / 365, and oversees a $3B asset portfolio comprising a 7 million sq. ft. physical plant across the campus. In autumn quarter of the 2021-22 academic year, R&DE will return to providing housing for over 13,000 students and dependents, serving meals at 17 dining halls, 12 retail locations, and operating athletic concessions and conference operations. Additionally, R&DE comprises 900 FTE staff in the following divisions : Student Housing Operations, Stanford Dining, Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries, Stanford Conferences, Maintenance Operations and Capital Projects, and a team of R&DE strategic business partners : Finance & Administration, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Strategic Communications.

This role is designated as essential and requires incumbents to report to work onsite. Telecommuting is not available for this role.

JOB PURPOSE :

Operate independently to plan, develop, and execute talent management and learning projects and / or programs for a maintenance trades-centric organization. Develop online curriculum and video modules and deliver learning solutions (training and coaching).

CORE DUTIES

  • Provide consultation to HR business partners and / or unit managers on adoption, customization, and implementation of programs that meet organizational needs.
  • Develop, manage, and facilitate project plans for the implementation of new talent management programs or processes.
  • Determine the effectiveness of programs through the analysis of appropriate metrics and recommend program adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct interviews, organize focus groups and administer surveys to assess needs.
  • Assist team members to develop and manage budgets for assigned projects and programs.
  • Research available vendor programs and curriculum based on customer needs and customize as needed.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure service level agreements are met and recommend vendor replacements, if necessary. Partner with communication, vendor, and team coordinators to develop and implement effective communication plans and materials.
  • May serve as facilitator for talent development programs.
  • May facilitate client requested group discussions.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to assist with developing effective curriculum with associated support technology (STARs, video production, support materials, evaluations, etc.).
  • Identify, procure, schedule and manage external and internal subject matter experts and vendors to provide technical training for various maintenance operations, safety training, and other areas.
  • Record, track and report in training, certifications, and other employee metrics.
  • Collaborate with various university partners to meet goals, identify synergy in initiatives, and share best practices.
  • Develop and deliver onboarding training to new staff that is specific to the working unit.
  • Champion DEIB efforts of the organization and build these efforts into all training opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Other duties may also be assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Education & Experience :

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Experience implementing effective talent management solutions.
  • Strong program / project management skills and experience.
  • Experience supporting and communicating with multiple stakeholder groups including partners, customers, and campus leaders.
  • Ability to establish a strong partnership with human resources partners and other team members.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong, fundamental skills in technology / platform supporting business operations and communications.
  • Experience in instructional design, multi-media design, and video production highly desired.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently stand / walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly / fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally twist / bend / stoop / squat, reach / work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort / file paperwork, lift / carry / push / pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel / crawl, operate foot and / or hand controls.

  • The expected pay range for this position is $123K to $133K per annum or ( $59.13-$63.94 / hour).
