Governors State University is seeking to hire a Testing Center Proctor to report to the Coordinator of the Testing Center and to support Governors State University’s (GovState) School of Extended Learning Test Center. Job duties include proctoring professional testing for GovState and the community. The Proctor is essential to proctoring in person and online exams for all testing center platforms. The Proctor must monitor for compliance and appropriate conduct while testing. The Proctor must communicate with faculty, staff, students and community members regarding the policies and rules of the Testing Center. The Proctor is required to perform reception duties as well as assist with training temporary workers. May temporarily supervise student employees. Additionally, the Proctor will assist with online registrations using Register Blast and other approved registration platforms for the Testing Center.
A successful candidate is organized, structured, calm demeanor, reliable, and is an excellent communicator.
Essential Responsibilities
20% Ensures that all test administration is carried out in compliance with relevant university and testing platforms’ policies, regulations, guidelines, and standards. Maintain confidentiality of test results, recommendations, and security of testing materials.
20% Provide office support and clerical services for the department including but not limited to routing phone calls, scheduling exam appointments, updating calendar, maintain filing system, respond to email communications, and enter exams into examination platform.
15% Effectively communicate and provide routine direction with faculty, staff, students, and community members the policies and rules of the Testing Center.
15% Coordinates with related departments as required for the following : standardized group and / or individual test administration; administers and / or coordinates academic and nonacademic professional testing, and testing services for accommodation needs including all physical, cognitive, and personal / social diversity accommodations of students that have exams in accordance with Access Services for Students with Disabilities (ASSD) Office guidance.
15% Provide training and oversee student staff for the Testing Center as needed.
5% Represents School of Extended Learning and Testing Center at various meetings, open houses, orientations, and to the public.
5% Be on call / available for operational issues during Testing Center hours of operation.
5% Performs other related duties as assigned by the Coordinator and / or Director.

Minimum Qualifications :
Required and Preferred Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years from the following categories :
A. Course work in education, behavioral sciences, social sciences, business
administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion
table or its proportional equivalent :
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year
- Associate’s degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years
- Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years
B. Work experience in test administration methods and techniques.
Desired Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree
Proficiency in Microsoft programs and testing service platforms including but not limited to :
Pearson Vue, PSI, and Prometric.
Represents Governors State University professionally with community, students, faculty, and
staff.
Excellent work ethic, interpersonal skills, and be willing to contribute to the development of new
procedures for continual improvement.
