Patient Coordinator Description:
Our busy and growing dental practice is seeking a personable, well-organized, and self-motivated individual. This position requires excellent people and communication skills. The successful candidate for this position must be detail oriented, highly value teamwork, and be committed to providing our patients with the best possible individualized dental care.
The patient coordinator is responsible for front office patient communication, patient scheduling, and full office coordination.
Main Responsibilities:
· Scheduling and confirming appointments. Being able to organize schedules for dentists and hygienists for most efficient and productive workflow
· Welcoming patients, updating patient records, answering phones, recording messages, transferring calls to voicemails
· Submitting insurance claims and accepting patient payments
· Making financial arrangements with patients
· Helping patients schedule appointments at specialty offices based on dentist referrals.
· Updating specialty correspondence, including recording notes and updating charts
· Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for correspondence
Requirements:
· Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate with patients empathetically
· Dental knowledge, which for this position can be taught to the right individual who has a strong desire to learn and grow
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
· Strong communication skills: verbal, email, and texting
· Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at and away from the dental practice
· Ability to complete and prioritize tasks within a given deadline
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently with multiple team members
· Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
· Self-motivated with desire for continued learning
