GENERAL SUMMARY : Fill orders with accuracy; check technician prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Manager about the daily activities of the pharmacy; aid the Manager in maintaining the pharmacy. These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, values and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and guests.

DESCRIPTION :

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Verify appropriateness of medication orders.
• Check dispensed medications for accuracy, sterility, stability, as appropriate.
• Review and optimize medication therapy.
• Provide medication therapy education to healthcare professionals, as requested.
• Provide patient counseling of medication therapies.
• Reports daily to Clinical Pharmacy Manager on overall operations, projects assigned, and expectations of overall role.
• Rotating AM&PM including weekends.
