What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Scientist - API Large Molecule Process Development position at Insight Global?
Our large pharmaceutical client is seeking to bring on an Associate Scientist to join their growing API Large Molecule Process Development group in Malvern PA. This individual will be performing cell banking for the cell culture processes and bio-analytical testing. This individual’s primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the production, testing, inventory, and supply of Master, Working, and development Cell Banks for clinical, and commercial production as well as analytical testing for J&J biopharmaceutical and cell therapy products. Training is provided and responsibilities will include:
- Support Cell banking organization by performing Cell banking for Cell Culture processes and analytical testing.
- Execute production, testing, and release of Master, Working, development, and analytical cell Banks and ensures the timely supply to customers.
- Work in a team environment as well as contributing individually to meet project timeline and objectives.
- Participate in Cell culture and cryopreservation of cells using aseptic techniques under GMP Compliant conditions.
- Execute all activities per established procedures and protocols
- Interface with internal and external customers to ship cell banks and supply critical information as per their requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to represent Cell Banking department.
- Author, review, and approve technical documents, SOPs, and batch records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field of study
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with mammalian cell cultures
- Experience with cell banking and/or cell line development
- Prior cGMP experience is preferred
Salary: $65,000-$75,000 (can be flexible based on experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:30pm
Hiring Method: Multiyear contract – After 1 year on contract, the individual will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role or have their contract renewed for another year
PTO: 10 PTO days, 6 paid sick days & paid Holidays

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
