A growing community health center (FQHC) is looking to hire 2 billing and collection specialists who will be responsible for processing, managing, and tracking all accounts receivable activities, ensuring that all billing functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner using EPIC. Review patient accounts for outstanding balances and ensure all charges are coded correctly and entered into EPIC for accurate claim submission. Monitor aging accounts, follow up on unpaid claims, and ensure appropriate action is taken to collect payments or resolve any issues. Submit accurate and complete claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers) for services rendered. Review denied claims and take appropriate actions to resolve issues, including appealing denials and providing supporting documentation. Contact patients with outstanding balances, providing clear and concise billing information and payment options.
Must-haves
- 2-3 years of experience with A/R management, utilizing Epic
- Experience submitting claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers)
- Experience contacting patients regarding oustanding balances and providing billing information/payments options
- Knowledge of medical codes
