What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Inspector position at Insight Global?
Insight Global is looking for a full-time Florida Certified Building Inspector to join a large engineering consulting services company in Oakland, FL. This individual will be supporting cities within the Oakland, FL area with inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure building plans, specifications, and drawings comply with Florida building codes and regulations. This role will require extensive interactions with general contractors, city employees, engineers, and other public agencies. We are looking for an individual with a solutions-oriented mindset who can effectively establish and maintain effective working relationships with these individuals. The ability to work independently to perform all building structure, plumbing, electrical, sewerage, and heating system inspections for safety and specification compliance without assistance is crucial for this role. As a Building Inspector, you will be required to go on-site for inspections but can work from home if in-person work is not needed at a given time.

Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years of Municipal Building and / or Residential Building inspection experience within the State of Florida
- Standard Building Inspector License from the State of Florida
- Florida Standard Building Inspector Special Qualifications : Commercial and Residential or RBI (Residential Building Inspector)
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes and Regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication
- High School Diploma or equivalent
